Radiation Portal Monitors
Request a QuoteRadiation portal monitors (RPMs) are an essential part of radiation detection and prevention systems used at ports, borders, and other critical infrastructure facilities. These monitors are designed to detect and measure the presence of radioactive material in cargo containers, vehicles, and other objects passing through them.
RPMs use a combination of detectors, such as scintillation detectors or gas-filled detectors, to identify and quantify radioactive material. They are often integrated into a larger security system that includes cameras, access control systems, and other sensors, to provide a comprehensive and effective security solution.
The use of radiation equipment is critical to the prevention of the illicit transport of radioactive materials, which could be used in radiological dispersal devices (RDDs). In addition, RPMs can also detect accidental releases of radioactive material, which could pose a significant threat to public health and safety.
RPMs are often used by customs and border protection agencies, as well as by companies involved in the transportation of radioactive materials. They are an important tool for ensuring the safety and security of Canada.
